Guidelines for Completing Application Forms
01
VACANCY DETAILS
If there is a section where you need to complete the vacancy details, ensure you put the job title or name of the vacancy applied for, and also the reference number if applicable.
02
PERSONAL DETAILS
These are very important so make sure you enter all relevant information, especially your contact details including your mobile phone number.
03
DRIVING LICENCES HELD
Give details of driving licences held i.e. motorcycle, car, HGV, PCV. Also declare details of any points on your licence if necessary.
04
WORK HISTORY
Give details of previous employment starting with the most recent first. You should give as much detail as possible about your duties in each job. Use a separate sheet if necessary.
Include your work history on the application form, even if you are also going to include your CV with your application. The employer may not necessarily keep CVs on file.
05
EDUCATION & TRAINING
Give details of schools, colleges, universities or other training establishments attended. You should list any examinations taken and any training courses attended, as well as grades and results awarded.
06
ANY OTHER INFO
This is a very important section on the form as is gives you the opportunity to sell your skills to the employer. You should include any relevant information that you feel makes you particularly suitable for the job you are applying for. This may include previous experience, voluntary work, hobbies, language skills and other relevant qualifications. If you have no formal qualifications, you might want to include anything you were good at school.
